Unix Timestamp Converter
Convert Unix time in seconds or milliseconds to UTC, local time, and ISO 8601, and convert a date back to a timestamp.
Processed locally. Nothing from the editor is stored.
How to use Unix Timestamp
Unix time counts seconds from 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z, ignoring leap seconds, which is how JavaScript dates work. Millisecond values are the same instant with three extra digits. The page labels UTC and local time separately so a timezone offset is not implied.
- Paste a number and choose seconds or milliseconds, then Convert.
- Read ISO 8601, the UTC clock, the local clock, and both numeric forms.
- To go the other way, pick a date and time and choose whether that entry is UTC or local.
Examples
Read a second-based API field
0 as seconds is 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z. The same digits as milliseconds are 0.0 seconds and a different instant only when the number is large enough to include a millisecond component.
Turn a UTC meeting time into epoch seconds
2026-11-01T12:30 interpreted as UTC is the corresponding seconds and milliseconds, shown beside the local equivalent.
Questions
How do I tell seconds from milliseconds?
Current millisecond timestamps are 13 digits. Second timestamps are 10 digits through the year 2286. The unit control makes the choice explicit instead of guessing.
Does the current clock leave the browser?
No. The live clock is read locally so the page can show the current timestamp. It is not sent as an analytics value.
